2015 Chevrolet Captiva and BMW MIni Cooper launched in India

BMW India has rolled out  the Mini Cooper S (3-door petrol) which is based on the ULK front wheel platform in the Indian market. The Mini Cooper is priced at Rs. 34.65 lakh (ex-showroom).

The 3 door Cooper car is powered by a new 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, twinturbo petrol engine that delivers  a maximum power output of 192bhp and a maximum torque of 280Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It comes with a turbo charger. It has got airbags, ABS, Brake assist, seat belt warning, door ajar warning, central locking system as some of its prime safety features.

The customers of the cooper S will get a lot of customisation options for the decals, wheels and the roof. They also get an option to customize the interior too. The Cooper S also sports a new front suspension and revised rear suspension. It has got a tank capacity of 44 litres. The Mini Cooper S races 0-100kmph mark in only 6.7 seconds, It has got  a top-speed of 233kmph. Interestingly, this power car is expected to give a fuel economy of 18.2kmpl.

General Motors India has rolled out the 2015 Chevrolet Captiva in the Indian market. The new models are being offered in a 4×2 manual or a 4×4 automatic versions. The 4×2 model has been  priced at Rs. 25.13 lakh and the 4×4 automatic can be bought at Rs. 27.36 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Chevrolet Captiva is has got stunning macho looks with great comfort and safety features.

 The 2015 Chevrolet Captiva models sports new instrument cluster for rendering better visibility. Cluster Ionizer is also a new feature, which generates ions to purify and deodorize cabin interiors.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Arvind Saxena, President and Managing Director, General Motors India said that the launch of the all new MY 15 Captiva was in line with their business plan of capturing the all important SUV market and growing their market share. The Captiva had been warmly welcomed in markets around the world due to its combination of distinctive styling, refinement, best-in-class safety, comfort and versatility and powerful yet frugal diesel powertrain.

There have been no changes under the hood, the vehicle is powered by a  the old 2.2-litre diesel engine that churns out a maximum power of 187bhp at 3,800rpm and a maximum torque of 400Nm at 2000rpm. The engine comes with an option of being mated to either a 6-speed automatic gearbox and or  a 6-speed manual transmission system. It has got safety features like six airbags, ABS along with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist, an electric parking brake, seat belts for passengers and engine immobilizer.
