The New Indian Chief Dark Horse has now been unveiled in the US. The super stylish cruiser has been priced at Rs 10.56 lakh in the US market. Indian is an American brand of motorcycles that were originally produced from 1901 to 1953 in Springfield, Massachusetts, US. The Company went bankrupt in 1953. In 2011 Polaris Industries acquired Indian Motorcycles and has been marketing them.
The bike is powered by Thunder Stroke 111 engine. It is a 1,811cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, V-twin engine. The engine delivers a maximum 139 Nm of torque. The engine is coupled with a six-speed gearbox. The other amazing features on this devil cruiser are keyless ignition, ABS and cruise control. The keyless ignition provides security and also hassle free starting with the key fob you would be carrying. If you ever lost the key fob then you can access with the pre- programmed security code.
The motorcycle sports raw masculine looks. The new Indian Chief Dark horse boasts a matte-black finish on the V-twin motor, headlamp, forks and alloy wheels. The beast gets a stealth treatment on the renowned valenced fenders, handlebars and the saddle. It has Chrome at the trimmings on the fenders, engine covers, levers and the exhaust pipe has a devilish dual-tone, chrome-black finish. The fuel tank features distinctive monochrome Warbonnet graphics . The 16″ Ape Hanger Handlebars give riders a convenient handling position that result in a stress free long journey. The Luggage Rack bolts directly onto the Indian motorcycle in place of the passenger seat and provides a convenient place to attach cargo safely.
Other features include tank mounted electronic speedometer with odometer and electronic fuel gauge with low fuel led indicator, dual tripmeters, digital tachometer, gear position display, real-time clock, vehicle trouble code readout; heated grip level, ambient air temperature, fuel range; average fuel economy, battery voltage, low engine oil pressure and 9 led telltale indicators, cruise control enabled, cruise control set, neutral, high beam, turn signal, abs, check engine and mph or km/h unit designation.
The Indian Chief Dark Horse is expected to be launched by mid-2015 in India and can be priced around Rs 25 lakh in Indian market. Other motorcycles in the company’s line up are Indian scout, Indian Chief classic, Indian chief Vintage, Indian chieftain and Indian Roasmaster. The new cruiser is all set to compete against the Harley Davidson motorcycles.
