HTC to Roll out Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA Update for Droid DNA this 24

Predecessor to the HTC One M7, the HTC Droid DNA also much popular in some markets with the name of HTC Butterfly is soon gonna receive the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update. This is an official announcement which was made by HTC’s Executive Product Manager via his twitter page, @moversi. The device which was last updated to Android 4.2 by HTC from its original version Android 4.1 had never experienced the test of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean or Android 4.4 before.

Ensuring the scheduled update for HTC Droid DNA, the product manager wrote on his Twitter page that Droid DNA Android 4.4.2 update has already got technical approval from Verizon with Sense 5.5, thereby ensuring the updated testing of the new firmware. Reportedly, the update is going to roll out starting from this April 24. Like other times, this time also the update will roll out in phases based on regions and hence will definitely take some time to touch all headsets in the segment.

Once the firmware reaches your handset, you will get a system update massage in the notification area of your device. Tap on the notification and follow the instructions given on screen to go through the update process. But if you are not so much patient to wait for the notification, then you can search it manually by proceeding to Settings= > About phone= > System update= > Check for updates.

Of course there is no revelation on the changes that’s the HTC Butterfly is gonna experience post update. But what we guess, the new update must accompany the usual KitKat goodies such as white status bar icons, transparent status and navigation bars, better power management, cloud printing, emoji support, immersive mode, full screen album art & other.

Because this is major update, the file is expected to overcome the size of 500 MB. So you are strongly recommended to use a WiFi network while downloading the firmware.
