Isuzu motors has launched D-Max pick up vehicle in India. Isuzu motors has a well developed business in the south. It has dealerships in Bangalore, Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Tirupati and Cochin. Isuzu Motors has now opened its new dealership in Mumbai. It has plans to open dealerships in Pune and Nasik and slowly spread across the country. The Isuzu D-max is equipped with a 2.4 litre turbocharged engine. The engine has 4 cylinders and it is a intercooled one. The engine develops a power of 134bhp at 3600rpm and a torque of 294Nm in the range 1800-3200rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gear box.
The Isuzu D-Max comes in 3 variants-single cab flat deck, space cab flat deck and space cab arched deck. The space cab arched deck variant is priced highest at Rs 7,09,000(ex-showroom Mumbai), the space cab flat deck variant is priced at Rs 6,19,000 and the single cab flat deck variant is priced at Rs 5,99,000. The single cab is offered only in one colour i.e Alpine White while the space cab is offered in 3 colours-Sterling Metallic Silver, Alpine White and Nautilus Blue.
The single cab pickup has heavy duty chassis, high tensile strength steel body and other basic features. This pick up vehicle can carry a load of 1.2 ton. The space cab has features similar to that of luxury cars, it has fine interior, air conditioner, power windows and hydraulic power steering. The Space cab also offers an additional 1.5 feet area behind front row to store valuable goods.
