How to update Samsung Galaxy Gear S to Android 2.2.1.4 R750BVJU2BPA1 Firmware

Samsung is right now rolling the most recent Android 2.2.1.4 Official firmware update for Samsung Galaxy Gear S in Brazil.   2. Computer (Windows XP or Windows 7)
  3. Original USB Cable
  4. Install Samsung KIES in your PC and update it through internet from the official site. This is very important that upgraded version of KIES must be used to officially make the device updated.
  5. Disable the antivirus programs in both your Samsung Galaxy Gear S and PC to avoid any inconvenience during the update.
  6. Create a complete data backup in your Galaxy Gear S such as the SMS, Contacts, call logs, MMS, videos, songs, apps, APN passwords and other files present in direct phone.
  7. Make sure that your Galaxy Gear S has at least 70% power back up to avoid automatic shut down during the update.

Procedure to update Galaxy Gear S to official Android 2.2.1.4 Firmware

  1. First make sure you followed the above requirements, battery charged, installed both the software (WinRar+ Samsung kies) in PC and installed the .zip files.
  2. Then download the firmware as per your requirement from the given links along with Odin and extract both the files to your PC. Place the files on the desktop to find those easily.
  3. Switch off your Galaxy Gear S & land it into download mode by pressing the VOL DOWN+ HOME+POWER Buttons. Then again press the volume up key to continue when a warning massage appears.
  4. Now double click on Odin to launch it and then connect the android device to your PC via USB. When the device gets detected by Odin the pass message will appear. If this doesn’t happen then you have not upgraded the Samsung KIES from the official Samsung site. If properly connected, then Odin ID:COM box turns yellow and now you can move to the next step.
  5. Click on PDA in Odin and then select the tar.md5 file that was extracted by you earlier. Make sure that the Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time check boxes are ticked in ODIN and the Re-Partition button is unchecked.
  6. Then click on start to flash the firmware. Wait for few minutes and a PASS message will appear confirming the flashed update.
