Motorola Moto X Play receiving Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update in India

Motorola Moto X play is one of the premium Smartphones in the Indian Smartphone market and is marked as one of the best Smartphone devices of the manufacturer. The Smartphone was launched in July 2015 running on the stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and was scheduled for upgrade to the next version i.e Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. But unfortunately users of the Smartphone residing in India had not received the update still date. But if you are a user of the handset and reside in India, then you will be happy to know that the Smartphone has started receiving the official Marshmallow update in India. The update is also rolled for the Canada based Moto X Play users.

The new update will bring a number of changes to your device including Google’s monthly security update i.e. Security update for this month, adds Unicode 8.0 emoji support, camera shutter tone switch and many  more. Being an official update, it’s being rolled Over the Air and hence might reach the notification panel of your device at any moment. Post getting the OTA, you can download it and follow the instructions appearing on your device to complete the installation process. But if you have not received the update yet, then you can manually check status by going to Settings>About Phone>System Update.

Before, the Motorola Moto X Play had received the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow update this January in India. Apart from the said device, other devices from Motorola that has already received the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the country are Moto G Turbo Edition, Moto E 2nd Generation, Moto X Style, Moto X Gen 2, and Moto G 3rd Generation. Among other features that the new update will bring to your device are the Moto Assist feature, and the DND (Do Not Disturb) feature which will be found under the ‘Sound and notification’ menu bar.

So, if you have already received the update and have upgraded your device, then feel free to let’s know any other  new features if you mark in your device due to the update. We would like to add those to further updates of this story.
