It’s definitely not the first time we see the two techno majors Apple and Windows are in some rivalry. Often we have seen the both fighting for some cause or the other. But this time matter is of competition in sell and we have come to hear, if Windows Phone excelled the selling of iPhones in Laltin America as per the IDC reports. Before also the statement from IDC was making it around the corners that Windows outsold iOS in Latin America and the recent report from IDC reveal that it has kept its position intact after augmenting shipments up to 20% between Q2 & Q3 of 2013.
What reveal the IDC reports; Windows phone bags the second major place in regions like Peru, Chile, Mexico, & Colombia in terms of the presence of Operating System and Chile specifically has witnessed a steep growth of around 50% over the previous quarter making it the numero uno service provider among all its competitors.
Elaborating the hidden cause behind the success of Windows Phones sell, Oliver Flores, Regional Manager for Mobile Phones at IDC Latin America said, “Delivering smartphones with full features in low cost devices has been a major success of Windows Phone, showing their understanding of Latin America market. There are users that have just begun their journey in the smartphones world and low range devices like the Nokia Lumia 520, offer a complete experience for the user.” The variety of devices available in Latin America is a decisive factor in ensuring this trend continues over the coming months,” he further added.
Shedding light on the other part of success Liliana González, Director of the Windows Phone Division for Latin America said, “We have maintained our goal to continue positioning Windows Phone as the most personal and ideal platform for consumers and businesses. We maintain our N2 position in the region and in markets such as Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and now Chile, demonstrating we’re on the right track.”
