Idea, the other leading Mobile operator in the country yesterday (15th of February) launched 4G LTE 1800MHz FDD-LTE Band 3 services in Chennai. Not only Chennai, but other 29 towns in Tamil Nadu have got the opportunity to enjoy the benefit of the 4G LTE services.
As a total growth expansion in the state, Idea claims that in the last couple of months it has expanded its 4G LTE network to approx 20 districts including the towns Chennai, Trichy, Madurai, Salem, Vellore, Tirunelveli, Erode, and Tirupur. Besides, the Operator ids planning to launch the 4G LTE services in Coimbatore and Pondicherry soon.
5 other South Indian states i.e. Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka got the opportunity to enjoy the Idea 4G LTE services. Apart, the Company launched the services in five other states namely Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Punjab, and Odisha, earlier this month.
Briefing the roll of 4G LTE services in Chennai, P Lakshminarayana, COO – Corporate, Idea Cellular told, “Since the last week of December 2015, Idea has rapidly rolled out its high-speed 4G LTE network to cover 8 major markets in India. By March 2016, our services will extend to 2 more key markets namely, Maharashtra & Goa, and North East, and by June 2016, Idea’s 4G footprint will cover 750 cities across 10 telecom circles.”
Idea recently communicated to its subscribers via Email informing them that they can get a praiseworthy SIM card upgrade at all Idea showrooms and all other major outlets across India. The further note from Idea source adds “existing customers in key non-4G towns will also be able to enjoy Idea’s 4G services while roaming in these 4G towns by upgrading to 4G SIM cards from February 28.”
To move into the price segment, Idea charges equal for 4G services which is very equal to its 3G tariff plans. The users will be happy to know that the 4G pack start with the very base of price of Rs. 21 only. The company at hand is offering special double data benefit on all 1GB and above packs for both prepaid or postpaid customers who are upgrading to new 4G smartphones. For offering the bundled 4G data plans on new 4G Smartphone to the Customers, Idea has tied the knot with some Mobile manuafcturers namely Samsung, Intex, Lava, Lenovo, Xolo and India’s popular e-commerce portal Snapdeal.
