Pepsi is known for making softdrinks. The popular Pepsi brand on Thursday took the wraps off the Phone P1 and Phone P1s in China. The firm has started a crowdfunding campaign to make the smartphone. These devises will be sold under the pepsi brand name but Scooby Communication Equipment company will devise the first smartphones.
The smartphone comes in two variants -Phone P1 (regular version) and the Phone P1s (compatibility with China Unicom’s FDD-LTE). Both the smartphones Pepsi Phone P1s and Pepsi phone P1 share all other features and specifications.
DISPLAY & BATTERY
The Pepsi Phone P1s and Phone P1 sport a 5.5-inch 2.5D curved display with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels, which is impressive. They have dimensions 152.2×76.2×7.7mm and weigh 158 grams. As for the colour options, the customers will get to grab the Pepsi handsets in Blue, Gold, and Silver shades. A big 3000mAh battery fuels the smartphones and keeps them alive.
SOFTWARE & HARDWARE
The Phone P1s and P1 are driven by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek (MT6592) processor. They come loaded 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM for seamless performance. As for storage, both the handsets offer 16GB inbuilt storage, which can be expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. There is a fingerprint scanner at the rear panel, you will find it just below the primary camera. The smartphones are loaded with sensors like ambient light sensor, accelerometer and proximity sensor.The smartphones work on dido OS 6.1 version based on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
CAMERA & CONNECTIVITY
On the camera front, the handsets seem to be well equipped. The gadgets come featured with a 13-megapixel camera on the back. There is a 5-megapixel front facing shooter too. The smartphones have got hybrid dual-SIM card slots. Pepsi Phone P1s and P1 handsets offer Micro-USB, Bluetooth, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE and GPS and their connectivity features.
PRICE & AVAILABILITY
Those who wish to own these smartphones, they can get it from jd.com in China. The handsets are available via crowdfunding campaign from jd.com. In the beginning, the handsets were were sold for CNY 499 (roughly Rs. 5,000). For the next 1000 bidders, the handset was offered for CNY 699 (roughly Rs. 7,250). Again, the next 1000 will be available at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,500) and then CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 13,470). The handset will be offered till the target set by the company has been achieved.
