Samsung has announced the global availability of two new colours for the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Earlier, the two smartphones were available only in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, and Gold Platinum options. Now, the smartphones will be available in two new colours. The Galaxy S6 will come in Blue Topaz, and the Galaxy S6 Edge will be having a Green Emerald shade. There are no proper details on the availability and Samsung says that it may vary region to region.
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge were launched at MWC 2015 and was available for purchase in India on April 10. The Galaxy S6 32 GB variant is priced at Rs. 49,900,the 64 GB variant is priced at Rs 55,900 and the 128GB variant is priced at Rs 61,900. The 32GB Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is priced at Rs. 58,900, the 64GB variant is priced at Rs 64,900 and the and 128GB variant is priced at Rs 70,900.
The handsets feature a full glass and metal bodies . Both Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge sport 5.1-inch Quad HD (1440×2560 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 577ppi. The Galaxy S6 Edge features Dual side display. The screen comes guarded by Gorilla Glass 4.
They are powered by a 64 bit octa-core (quad-core 2.1GHz+ quad-core 1.5GHz) processor. They come loaded with 3GB of RAM (LPDDR4). The phones run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop which gives a host of new features. Both Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge run Android 5.0 Lollipop.On the camera front, these phones sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilisation) and LED flash , there is a 5-megapixel frontfacing shooter with 120 degree wide. The camera of both the handsets come loaded with features like low light video, high clear zoom, virtual shot, as quick launch, tracking AF, auto real-time HDR, f/1.9, IR detect white balance, fast motion, slow motion, pro mode and selective focus.
Samsung has started rolling out the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Core Prime. The Android Lollipop update for the Galaxy Core Prime is available out over-the-air. The changes in this update are expandable lock screen notifications from stock Lollipop, refreshed Samsung apps with Material Design among others.
