India has become the hub of all compact vehicles in the world. The latest to join the race is Fiat Avventura, a compact crossover sports utility Vehicle (SUVs) from the Italian manufacturer. The new Fiat has made its global debut at New Delhi, India. Fiat India will launch the Avventura by early October. It will compete against the other cars like Toyota Etios cross and Volkswagen Cross Polo. The Avventura is based on the Punto platform and the two share several components and features which has been unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. Now let’s have a look on the varied interior and exterior features with engine components that this forthcoming SUV incorporates.
Exterior
Coming to the exterior design, the big spare wheel cover is offered on all trims which is tastefully styled and which is the defining design element in the Avventura. The car comes with high ground clearance when it will be driven over bumps, potholes and everything that’s boring. The grounds at clearance stands at 205 mm, which is 20 mm more than Punto Evo. The 16 inch Alloy wheels comes with the standard edition of Fiat Avventura. They are smooth to the eyes, stylish and can run on all kinds of roads. Interesting part of wheels are that those are mounted on the tailgate. It appears to be attached onto the boot lid. It actually sits on the arm which is hinged on the bumper.
The car looks simple; the entire mechanism is done on some clever engineering. The aggressive look is all on the bumper that has the tough-looking cladding integrated into it and a Pseudo skid-plate which completes the crossover motif. The roof rails are made from aluminium, which will serve the two purposes. One it will keep the weight at the top at a minimum (not raising the centre of gravity by much) and secondly the strong metallic construction makes them suitably functional like caring cycle, surf, raft, camps for the sporty people. The lower front grille with the fog lamps adds a lot of aggression to the overall design. The externally-mounted spare wheels at the back is different from other SUVs. Instead of opening backwards, it will open in the forward direction.
Interior
The welcoming inside comes with the tan colour scheme as opposed to black and beige. The Tan brown leather is visible on the doors. The layout is similar to the Fiat punto Evo. It doesn’t have extra legroom and head room than the hatchback. The cockpit comes with an attractive central console with a glossy black finish on top. The three spoke steering wheel is wrapped with leather upholstery with contrast orange stitching. The sporty seats have integrated headrest and comes with fabric covers. The interior have been equipped with number of other features like A/C Unit, music system, advanced instrumental cluster and many more. The special addition are the clinometers and the compass which will add to the off –road value of the car. Climate control and double DIN sound system are the other standard part of equipments.
Engine
Fiat Avventura will come with two engine options. The Petrol engine will come with 1.4 litre motor and maximum power of 89bhp and 115 Nm torque. The diesel model will come with multi-jet motor engine and maximum power of 92bhp of power and 209 Nm of torque.
Price
The expected price will be around Rs 5.5 lakh-Rs 8 lakh. It will be competing with the upcoming Toyota Etios Cross and Maruti SX4 S Cross and Volkswagen Polo Cross. So definitely we will wait to watch how this new forthcoming giant from Fiat stands to the popularity of the existing vehicles in the Indian market. But what you think guys?
