MTNL (Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited) Mumbai has just launched four new Broadband Tariff Plans. These new plans are being provided via VDSL technology using Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) and have been grouped under one primary plan i.e. MTNL VDSL Power Plan. This isn’t the first time, MTNL introduced a tariff plan group in accordance with the type of service; last year it had introduced FTTH Tariff Plans corresponding to its Fiber to the Home Service. For further details about the recently introduced MTNL VDSL Power Plans read the followings.
As aforementioned, there are a total of 4 new tariff plans introduced under the MTNL VDSL Plan and they are VDSL Power 990, VDSL Power 1290, VDSL Power 1690 and VDSL Power 2290. All of them offer unlimited data usage based on FUP (Fair Usage Policy). The VDSL Power 990 tariff plan, which is priced at Rs.990/-, offers maximum download speed up to 10 Mbps and maximum upload speed up to 5 Mbps till 25 GB data usage and thereafter the download and upload speed get downgraded to 512 Kbps. The Fair Usage Policy in terms of download and upload speed is same across all the tariff plans. However, the data usage limit, after which the download/upload speed gets reduced, differs like for VDSL Power 1290 tariff plan it is 45 GB, for VDSL Power 1690 it is 75 GB and for VDSL Power 2290 it is 150 GB.

Other than that, with VDSL Power 2290 tariff plan, the MTNL Mumbai customers would get 1 free static IP. The new customers opting for any of the aforesaid tariff plan will have to pay Rs.1000/- towards installation, registration and testing. In addition, the customers will also have to pay non-refundable VDSL CPE charges of Rs.1000/- and other service taxes (as applicable).
