Yamaha Launches Ray Z: Its Ray Series Scooter

Yamaha, the eminent Japanese bike manufacturer has of late launched its latest ‘Ray’ series fully automatic Scooter Ray Z into the Indian market with an aim to make India the hub of cheapest, yet qualitative motorcycles. The first Ray series Scooter by Yamaha was launched in last September to rave reviews of the users and by now the company has sold almost 70,000 Ray scooters in the Indian markets.

However, the company has brought some ecstatic changes in the successor (Yamaha Ray Z) and hence it’s expected to hit the markets in a more significant way. While the first Ray series Scooter was targeted to women, the Ray Z has been made more male centric and is available in the market with a price range of just Rs 48, 555. Apart, the automaker has added two new variants to its existing SZ-R motorcycle range i.e. the SZ-S and SZ-RR, which are available in the market with the respective price of Rs 59,500 and 62,500.

Well, coming back to the Ray Z, we would definitely like to inform you about its exterior and the basic features. The new Scooter looks very similar to its predecessor Yamaha Ray in look, but it also has a glimpse of Mahindra Duro. While the Scooter this time has been targeted to men specially, its mileage 53kmpl is also supposed to turn the centre of attraction for all. Launching the new Yamaha Scooter in the Indian market, the President and CEO of Yamaha Motor Company, Hiroyuki Yanagi expressed, “Empowered by a passion for innovation, we create exceptional value and experiences that enrich the lives of our customers.”

Taking a look on the technical formations of the Scooter reveal that the Scooter configures a 4 stroke, 113 cc engine that has the potential to mass-produce a maximum power of 7 bhp including a maximum torque of 8 Nm. As demands the company, the Scooter is much fuel efficient and boats of its sporty look with a smoke-finished visor, an aluminium rear wing shaped tandem rider grab-bars, carbon fibre patterned seat cover and a novel instrumental panel. The riding gear and the series of accessories are the added equipments that will definitely enforce someone to utter ‘Wow’!

Well, with the introduction of this new Scooter Yamaha has definitely initiated a cold war with some of the brand manufacturers and their brand Scooters like Honda Dio, Suzuki Swish, Mahindra Duro and TVS Wego. So, it’s to be seen now who covers up the market share the most and who becomes able to get the maximum qualitative approach among the users. What you expect guys?
