Setting timer on wearOS with Google Assistant at present broken

Wear OS is undergoing major overhauls, but the way to upgrade for current devices is still unclear. So far, new owners have been affected by a recent Google Assistant issue on their wearOS that prevented them from installing a timer. According to few complains there is major issue in setting timer on wearOS with Google Assistant that is at present broken.

Google will use your voice when you bring help to your wireless operating system through the Hotword fixed earlier this year. OR by pressing a long button and “setting a timer for [x] minutes.” The screen displays the increment and then the “Start Now …” command.

However, there is nothing appeared and the readings are shown in the feed in notification (pictured right). All other timing methods still work including tiles and configure apps. The problem arose yesterday and is on a much larger scale, according to a report that affects many devices from fossils to Ticwatch and Oppo.

We copied the bug to a Moto 360 running the current version of Google, put it in the OS, and looked at the app. Those who use wearOS on heavily skinned watches also suffer from this problem.

Fortunately, there are other ways to set a timer for affected users, but the lack of voice commands that goes beyond considering small-screen wearable deprives them of some of the benefits.

If the clock and phone are synchronized, you can bypass the phone’s timer with the watch.

  • When the timer is off you will see a notification on your watch
  • Swipe right to dismiss the timer

Just set a stopwatch for your watch

  • To open the application list, press the clock power button
  • Open the Timer Timer application
  • Enter how long you want the timer to run
  • Tap at the beginning

Change the race timer

After the timer starts:

  • Tap Search to turn off the running timer.
  • Again Tap Reset to reset the paused timer countdown.
  • Tap START to restart the timer.
  • Tap Remove to remove a timer.

If you exit the app during the timer, you can see the progress of the timer and come back later. To open the app again, open your notification list and tap the timer and then turn it on.
