Honda Speculates to Introduce Brio based SUV in India by 2015

Only the day before we had informed you that Honda debuted its much anticipated and luxurious car the new Honda City Sedan in Indian market and now we are in reports that the giant manufacturer is planning to introduce a Brio based SUV in the India by 2015. While the Honda Brio has already been established as one of the largest selling cars in the country, the company speculates that a car belonging to the same model with improvised specifications will definitely hold good bit of  market share.

Here we would like to inform you that actually Honda initially wanted to introduce a Vezel crossover in the country which in the later stage the company thought to become much expensive for the Indian market. That’s the cause why it later thought of introducing a Brio based USB which would be both cost-effective and luxurious. And if you might have seen a Honda Brio, you can better conjecture what factors the company must have taken into considered.

Besides, the other Honda products like the Honda Amaze and Mobilio MPV has also hold good market share in India and has created a strong user database for the company. Then it’s genuine that the manufacture must consider of taking benefit form already built platform after introducing a small SUV. Not only in India, but what we hear the company also speculates to introduce the SUV in Indonesia car market, though nothing official has been revealed from the company yet.

Ask Mr. Jonfis Fandy, director of Marketing and Sales of Honda about the purpose of introducing the Honda SUV in India and he says, the platform is suitable and reliable. But he ignored the fact of the car landing in Indonesian market saying, “There has been no discussion on it this time, but the company is ready with the ‘capacity and production capability’.” Reportedly, the Brio SUV is supposed to carry the equivalent specs such as 1.5-litre i-VTEC and 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine, that right now is integrated in the Honda City sedan and Mobilio MPV.

Prior to this announcement, Honda had already ensured its intentions in the Tokyo Motor Show, the previous year.
