Mahindra Gusto Scooter scheduled for September 29 launch in India & Nepal

Mahindra two wheelers Ltd. is all set to launch its new scooter the ‘Gusto’ on September 29, 2014. The name ‘Gusto’ means doing something with interest/excitement. The new Gusto is going to be launched on September 29 in India and Nepal. In the coming months it will be launched in America, Africa and South Asia. The scooter is following the Mahindra’s tradition of naming their product ending with the word “O”. Mahindra wants’ to get a bigger market share in 2 wheeler for which the company is going to launch a product with 110cc in scooter segment.

Honda Active the 110cc scooter has dominated the market in scooter segment in terms of sales. But now Mahindra 110cc scooter has been spotted testing. Mahindra calls the new power plant M-TEC. Construction of the body of the scooter is all aluminium. The single-cylinder motor will generate 8PS of maximum power and the peak is of 8.5 Nm torque. From the sources it has been found that the new scooter will be loaded with some unique features which will set it apart from all other rivals in the scooter segment.

Talking about the new Mahindra Gusto, Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive – Farm Equipment & Two Wheeler Division & Member of the Group Executive Board said, “We are set to introduce our new global scooter, the GUSTO, created at our state-of-the-art R&D facility in Pune. The name GUSTO is a derivative of ‘gust’ which connotes a sudden strong current of wind, symbolizing the spirit of freedom. GUSTO comes with an all Aluminium M-TEC engine with advanced features such as a stronger crankshaft and bearings, high inertia magneto, high energy HT coil and series regulator to deliver superior power, efficiency and reliability.”

Mahindra Gusto will be symbolized as a family scooter. The new Gusto has been fully styled in Italy. It will target at both the sexes. The scooter will feature some radical design and will be a first-in-class which will give the scooter a distinctive appeal. The scooter is build on new ‘grounds-up’ platform. Te expected price will be from Rs 40,000 – 45,000(Ex-Showroom).
