Maruti Suzuki has launched the facelifted Ertiga MPV in an appropriate time. It is festive season in India and we all believe that if we buy a vehicle, house, gadget or anything during this auspicious period it would bring good luck to us. We notice that a lot of features have been derived from the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
EXTERIOR
The new Ertiga facelift has kept the same dimensions and also has the same headlamps. The new thing on the front that we see is the chrome accents around the fog lamp housing which makes it look winsome. On the back, the Ertiga name has been sculpted onto the rear door.
ENGINE
The Maruti Suzuki engineers seem to have done their stuff well with the new SHVS or Smart Hybrid diesel hybrid model. The hybrid engine uses an unified generator having an inbuilt motor that amplifies the power of the engine. This augments the efficiency by 18% . The new mileage stands at 24.52 kmpl. The petrol K14B engine has also undergone some tweaks The new mileage is 17.5 kmpl which is an increment of 9%. The engine incorporates the SHVS system uses start-stop and brake energy recuperation which leads to the rise of the fuel economy.The petrol variant is equipped with 1373cc engine having a peak power of 68 Kw while, the diesel gets a 1248cc engine with a peak power of 66kw.
INTERIOR & SAFETY
On the inside we see some improvement done. There is more comfort and luxury. The car sports better fabric upholstery. There are split seats in the 3 rd row now. The facelift model features infotainment system with navigation, touchscreen, Bluetooth and a reverse camera. We get a relief to know that Maruti Suzuki has not compromised on the safety aspects of the vehicle this time. The driver side would get an airbag as standard in base model. Customers will get the option of buying seatbelts with pre-tensioners and force limiters, and double airbags ABS with EBD as add ons.
