Many in India must have watched their favourite superstar Salman Khan’s new choice of ride on their TV screens. Now you can own it and ride it on the streets, it’s the new Suzuki Gixxer. Suzuki has rolled out the new Gixxer in the India at Rs. 72, 199. The Gixxer was first showcased at the 2014 Auto. The bike has got sporty style with aerodynamically shaped fuel tank and chromed exhaust pipe.
Suzuki Gixxer is powered by 154.9 cc 2 valve 4 stroke single cylinder engine which delivers 14.8 PS of power at 8000 RPM and torque of 14 NM of torque at 6000 RPM. The engine has got the Suzuki eco performance technology. This engine is coupled with a 5 speed gearbox. The engine is a air cooled one and has got 2 valves per cylinder. Suzuki has used carburetor as the fuel delivery system to keep its price at a competitive level.
The Gixxe has great dimensions as the length is 2,050 mm, width is 785 mm, height is 1,030 mm. The wheel base of the Gixxer is 1,330 mm. Suzuki has given telescopic front suspension and swing arm, mono rear suspension. The Gixxer comes with tubeless tyres 100/80-17 inch front tyre and 40/60R-17 rear tyre. The Gixxer gets only the front disc, while the rear get drum brake which is very disappointing. The bike comes with attractive triangular head lamp with bikini fairing and LED tail light. The bike has got a 12 L fuel tank. This will be the first time that Suzuki is using dual-type exhaust on sub-250cc motorcycle. Suzuki claims that this exhaust plays a big role in the process of scavenging.
Suzuki Gixxer will be offered in five color options – Metallic Triton Blue, Oort Grey Metallic, Candy Antares Red, Peal Mirage White, Glass Sparkle Black. The Gixxer will be competing with Honda CB Trigger Yamaha FZ FI V2.0, TVS Apache RTR, Bajaj Pulsar 150 and Hero Xtreme. Suzuki says that the new Suzuki Gixxer has been specifically designed for India and its neighbouring countrieswith the focus being on sporty styling, mileage and price.
