1. Maruti Suzuki Celerio – 35.60 km/kg & 26.68 km/l (CNG+Petrol)

It goes without saying that a Maruti Suzuki celerio tops the list for fuel efficiency. . A Dual-Jet K10, 3-cylinder, 1.0L petrol+CNG engine with 35.60 km/kg and 56 bhp and 82 Nm is what the vehicle is powered by. A 5-speed manual transmission is used with the Celerio. The mileage shown by the Celerio is 26.68 kilometers per litre. Celerio’s CNG version starts at Rs. 6.68 lakh.

2. Maruti Suzuki WagonR – 34.05 km/kg To 25.19 km/l (CNG+Petrol)

The WagonR, which is currently India’s best-selling automobile, is yet another Maruti on the list. It receives the identical powertrain and tuning as the Celerio. It has a petrol mileage of 25.19 km/l. WagonR CNG variants start at Rs. 6.42 lakh.

3. Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 – 31.59 km/kg To 22 km/l (CNG+Petrol)

The Maruti Alto, which is presently the smallest and most affordable vehicle in the nation, comes third in the list. which is slated to receive a new generation with bigger space and an SUV-like aesthetic. It has a 0.8L engine with 40 horsepower and 60 Nm of torque. Its claimed efficiency on CNG is 31.59 km/kg, and on petrol, it is 22 km/l. The cost of the CNG version of the Alto is Rs. 5.02 lakh.

4. Maruti Suzuki Dzire – 31.12 km/kg To 24.1 km/l (CNG+Petrol)

Dzire fills the fourth position since Maruti Suzuki S-Presso CNG is currently unavailable for purchase. According to the ranking of the top 25 cars, the Dzire is presently the fourth most popular vehicle. It has a 31.12 km/kg efficiency and is a sub-4 m compact vehicle. A 1.2L K12C Dual-Jet engine with 76 horsepower and 98.5 lb-ft of torque powers it. CNG variant prices start from Rs. 8.22 lakh.

5. Hyundai Aura / Grand i10 Nios – 28 km/kg To 21 km/l (CNG+Petrol)

Given that both vehicles are almost identical, the Hyundai Aura and Grand i10 Nios both offer fuel efficiency ratings of 28 km/kg for CNG and 21 km/l for petrol. A 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol+CNG engine with 68 bhp and 95 Nm is provided for the both of them. Only lower to medium variants of each of these vehicles were offered with CNG options. Hyundai just added CNG to its top-tier Asta models. Nios CNG variant starts at Rs. 7.16 lakh, while the Aura CNG variant starts at Rs. 7.87 lakh.

6. Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara / Toyota HyRyder – 27.97 km/l (Strong Hybrid)

The huge compact SUV that serves as Maruti’s flagship ranks high on this list. This is because both the Grand Vitara and the HyRyder are powered by Toyota’s powerful hybrid technology. It has a 1.5L engine and an electric motor as well. Together, these components generate 114 bhp and an e-CVT transmission with a maximum petrol mileage of 27.97 km/l.

7. Honda All New City e:HEV – 26.5 km/l (Strong Hybrid)

Another good hybrid to make this list is City Hybrid. It is powered by a 172.8 Volt, 0.734 KWh Lithium-ion Battery. The engine gets going and charges the battery when it starts to lose charge. The heavy lifting is done by two electric motors, each rated at 98 PS between 5,600 and 6,400 RPM. Between 0 and 3,000 RPM, they can produce 253 Nm. The cost comes to around Rs. 19.53 lakh.

8. Tata Tigor / Tiago – 26.4 km/kg To 20 km/l (CNG+Petrol)

Both of Tata’s entry-level vehicles, the Tiago hatchback and Tigor sedan, are claimed to achieve 26.4 km/kg on CNG and 20 km/l on petrol. Tata is still a newcomer to CNG technology, but the business just seems to get favourable reviews. A 1.2L 3-cylinder engine generating 72 bhp and 95 Nm powers both. For the Tiago and Tigor, CNG models start at Rs. 6.30 lakh and Rs. 7.90 lakh, respectively.

9. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga – 26.1 km/kg To 20.5 km/l (CNG+Petrol)

Ertiga, the most popular MPV in India, is included on this list as well because it is available in S-CNG versions. With CNG, the 1.5L engine can get 26 km/kg and produces 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm. The Ertiga’s petrol mileage is 20.5 kilometres per litre. Prices for the Ertiga CNG start at Rs. 10.44 lakh.

10. Maruti Suzuki S-Presso – 25.3 km/l (Petrol)

The S-Presso CNG’s petrol engine efficiency because it isn’t currently available for purchase. The 1.0L engine in the recently released 2022 S-Presso produces 66 bhp and 89 Nm. The AMT versions are rated at 25.3 km/l, compared to 24.12 km/l for the MT variants. Prices for AMT variants begin at Rs. 5.65 lakh, while those for MT variants begin at Rs. 4.25 lakh.
