The term ‘Toyota Innova HyCross’ has already been registered as the trademark for the upcoming Innova by Toyota. Reportedly, the new Innova HyCross is to make its debut on a global scale around Diwali, this year. In any case, the unveiling is sure to happen utmost by January 2023.

The next-gen Innova will have a monocoque frame like that of a car, unlike the current model which is based on a ladder-on-frame structure.

According to speculations, this will be based on the worldwide TNGA-C or GA-C of Toyota (Global Architecture). The wheelbase’s dimension is to be about 2,850mm, i.e., 100mm longer than the current Crysta model.
Toyota is also most likely to launch the updated Fortuner SUV in Thailand in 2023.
It is to be built on the TNGA-F platform used mostly by Toyota to build their large body-on-frame SUVs and full-size pickup trucks.
The Land Cruiser J300, Lexus LX, Toyota Tundra, and Sequoia are currently backed by the platform, which has a wheelbase length range of 2,850 to 2,180mm. The new Fortuner will be offered with a new diesel engine with a mild hybrid system. Further, a 2.8-liter diesel engine with a mild hybrid system and an integrated starter generator will be included along with the 1GD-FTV. It is to go by the name of the ‘GD Hybrid’ and is expected to provide better fuel efficiency and more torque when desired. The new Fortuner is to include an engine start/stop system.
