According to reports, tech juggernaut Apple will launch two new MacBook Air models this year in the late spring or early summer. Apple may release an improved 13-inch MacBook Air and a larger 15-inch MacBook Air with the new M3 CPU, according to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The industry anticipates that the 13-inch model will feature the M3 chip manufactured using TSMC’s latest 3nm process to improve performance. The current 13-inch device, released in July 2022, is powered by the M2 chip, based on a 5nm process. Gurman did not state whether the M3 chip would also be present in the 15-inch variant.
Previously, DigiTimes had claimed that the M2 chip would be integrated into the 15-inch MacBook Air. However, Gurman suggested that a 15-inch model with an M2 chip. It would “quickly become outdated” given the M3 chip’s imminent release. Display industry analyst Ross Young also revealed something interesting. He announced that Apple’s supply chain began production of display panels for a new 15.5-inch MacBook Air in February.
Apple is also reportedly planning to launch a Yellow color option for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus. The brand last offered a Yellow color option for the iPhone 11 in 2019 and the iPhone XR in 2018. Yellow may be similar to the current Gold option for those devices.
The Japanese site Mac Otakara shared a Weibo post that claimed that Apple’s PR department would be holding a product briefing the following week. Rumors suggest that Apple will announce new MacBook Air models and possible color options for iPhone 14. While the specifics of the briefing are unknown.
