Jio has launched its free Voice Over WiFi calling service for its users in all circles across the country. Now the Jio users can make absolute free calls using the WiFi network. Few days ago, Jio had launched this service in the Delhi and Chennai circles, but by 16th January the service will be started across the country. More than 150 Smartphones will support this service. For your information, before Jio Airtel had launched the VoWiFi Calling feature for its customers in India.

The Jio users will not need to pay an additional charges to use this service.
What’s VoWiFi
Voice Over WiFi i.e. VoWiFi functions through WiFi and it’s also called VoIP. Using VoWiFi, you can make calls through Home WiFi, Public WiFi and WiFi Hotspot. For example, if you don’t have network on your phone then you can make calls using any WiFi or someone’s Hotspot. The best benefit of VoWiFi can be induced while in roaming because you can make free calls through any WiFi.
How to make Calls using WiFi
If still you can’t understand what’s VoWiFi Calling, then you can take WhatsApp calling for instance. While you make WhatsApp calls, you make this using through Internet without spending a penny. So to tell in simple words, to make calls through WiFi without the help of Mobile network is called VoWiFi calling.
Settings for VoWiFi Calling
At first I would like to say that you can make VoWiFi calls only if your Smartphone supports this feature. You can check this feature on your Smartphone by going to Settings >Network Setting.
