Audi India has launched a new top end variant of the Q3 that is badged as the Dynamic model. Competition makes all better. The same applies to all the cars as well. The Q family has just got better to fend off the swelling competition in the luxury compact SUV segment. The Audi Q3 Dynamic comes with Audi’s Drive Select adaptive suspension system that allows the driver to choose between three driving modes – Comfort, Dynamic and Auto. But unlike a routine facelift, changes to the Q3 Dynamic are not merely skin-deep as it is equipped with Audi Drive Select, which makes the car even more desirable. The suspension of the Q3 Dynamic has also been tweaked to make it more suitable for Indian roads by making it more comfortable while also possessing sharp handling traits. Audi distinguishes the new Q3 Dynamic with new 17 inch 5 spoke ‘Trias’ design alloy wheels, a full chrome front grille and clear lens LED tail lamps. Now let’s take a detailed look on the varied features and utilities of the vehicle.
Exterior
An all-chrome grille and aluminium skid plate are new in the front, while 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels add freshness to the profile of the car. The impressive clear lens taillights look and the under body guards on the rear bumpers ensure peaceful off-roading. The athletic silhouette with the dynamic flat rear window signalises urban sportiness. The exciting interplay of light and shade modulates its sides. And the optional panoramic glass roof opens up the generous interior to the sky. Wheel arch trims in the body color or a contrasting color emphasize the sturdy character of the Audi Q3.The Audi Q3 is 4.39 metres long, 1.83 metres wide and 1.60 metres high including roof rails. The wedge-shaped headlights can be equipped with xenon plus units with LED daytime running light on request. The large inlet blades are a clear demonstration of the engine’s potent.

Interior
Interiors are full of soft-touch materials that look good and are well assembled. The spacious interior of the Audi Q3 harmoniously continues the dynamic line of the exterior design. The brushed aluminium accents and the walnut brown wood inlays are specially made for the Dynamic Q3. A sweeping arc, the wrap-around, encompasses the driver and front-seat passenger – typical for the premium model series of the Audi brand. Electrically adjustable front seats with 4 way lumbar support offer outstanding comfort and the rear seats are certainly the best in class with excellent under thigh support and rear AC vents. The rectangular 5.8-inch MMI screen controls many functions including the Audi Sound system with 10 Speakers and a subwoofer. The voice dialogue system, Concert Radio and Bluetooth with audio streaming are also provided. The Boot space is generous and the full-sized spare tyre gives the Q3 edge over the Mercedes GLA that comes with a space saver tyre and the BMW X1 that offers no spare tyre at all.
Engine
The 2.0 TDI 103 kW has a front wheel drive in conjunction with a 6-speed manual transmission. This impressively refined motor makes 177 PS and 380 Nm of torque which sent to all the wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The S tronic works with two multi-discs clutches which serves different gears. Thus the gear change only takes a few hundredths of a second and is completed with virtually no interruption in the power flow. It runs so smoothly and comfortably that the driver barely notices it. Audi claims an ARAI fuel efficiency of 15.73kmpl, which is commendable, too.

Price
The new Audi Q3 Dynamic is priced at Rs. 38.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), while prices for the Q3 compact luxury SUV range start from Rs. 25.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). So we would desperately wait to see to what extent this benevolent car from Audi stands to the manufacturer expectation and at the same time would like to see how it is accepted in the Indian market with this comparatively high cost.
