But there are a number of users who have not updated their Aadhaar cards and need to make changes or rectification to the card. For this earlier they had to visit their nearest Aadhar Seva Kendra but no the process can be done online and offline both. The 12-digit unique identity number is held by over 1.3 billion Indian residents and is requires almost everywhere now-a-days.
Updating Aadhaar Is Essential
An updated Aadhaar card is essential for hassle-free government benefits, financial services, and everyday transactions. An updated Aadhar ensures access to various government schemes and services.
It also helps in keeping your KYC records accurate for smoother bank transactions, purchase of SIM cards, and loan applications, etc. It further helps in maintaining all kinds of official documents such as the passport, the land records, etc.
Updating Aadhaar Online
You can apply for update or correction of your Aadhaar Card data online. This service is provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). Users can update details such as name, gender, date of birth, address and mobile number.
You can now book an appointment for Aadhaar Card Enrolment online. This online service is provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India, Government of India. Applicant needs to fill up details such as name, email ID, mobile number, State and district names, select locality and Enrolment Centre to book an appointment. Users can also select the date and time for appointment.
Get information about how to enroll for Aadhaar Card. The information is provided by the Unique Identity Development Authority of India (UIDAI). The users can get detailed information about the procedure of Aadhaar registration, required documents details, list of Aadhaar Enrollment Centres, etc. Lists of valid documents’ list for Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) are also provided.
There are a few documents that are considered Proof of Identity (PoI) and Proof of Address (PoA) such as: Ration card, Voter identity card, Government-issued identity card/ certificate having address, and Indian Passport serve as proof of both identity and address.

Updating Aadhaar Offline
Users can update details such as name, gender, date of birth, address and mobile number offline also. The request for correction or update can also be sent by post. Users can search a nearby Aadhaar Card Enrollment Centre online. One can select a state, district or locality to find out about the UIDAI centre. Information such as centre’s address, contact persons, start and closing date of the enrollment is also available.
Here is how to update or apply for Aadhaar card offline: First and foremost you need to locate the nearest Aadhaar centre with the help of the UIDAI website. Then you need to carry with you originals of the documents cited above (they will be scanned and returned). You then need too fill out the Aadhaar update form and provide biometric verification if required. and then pay a fee of Rs. 50. You then need to collect the acknowledgement slip with Update Request Number (URN) for tracking.
The center will then verify and upload all the details online and then after around 7 to 15 days the card will be posted to the address provided. It is to be noted that you will have to update your Aadhaar car every 10 years with biometrics and photo.
