Hero Splendor Pro Classic and Passion Pro TR Launched

Hero Motocorp, world’s largest two wheeler maker, has rolled out two new bikes in India – Splendor Pro Classic and passion Pro TR. The Splendor Pro classic is the country’s first 100 cc class bike with cafe racer styling. The passion Pro TR has also been launched in the same class a bit with on-off road characteristics, a first for the class again. The bike was first shown at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo and grabbed the limelight soom. Hero assumes that Splendor’s popularity as a tough, frugal bike and its cafe racer design will definitely attract the attention of a lot of customer.

To give the Splendor Pro Classic a cafe racer look, the company has given it a classic single sit, a vintage style cafe cowl, a sporty handle bar, round head and taillight and a classic round speedometer. The bike is powered by an air-cooled and a four-stroke engine. The company has added chrome treatment to the rear –view mirrors, head-lamp rings, front and rear fenders, suspension, silencer and a few other parts. A fatter rear tyre would have helped tremendously for styling, but the way it is, is for fuel-efficiency.

This time the engine has been turned for a higher output. This means, the bike is powered by the familiar 97.2-cc engine, but it produces 8.25 bhp @ 7500 rpm (as compared to the regular splendor’s 7.7 bhp @ 7000 rpm) and 8.05 Nm @ 5000 rpm (as compared to 8.04 Nm @ 4500 rpm of the regular bike) coupled to a 4-speed transmission.

The Splendour pro classic is available in two colour options – Solid Maroon and Carbon Black. The Passion Pro TR on the other hand , let’s the rider go off the road with the new characteristics lite sturdier handlebars with a cross brace, high front fender with hugger , a knee pad for better grip, headlight grill and hand guards for more protection. It has also got a special tyre tread for better road grip, bash plate to shield engine, designer knuckle guard and fuel tank pads. The Hero Splendor pro Classic is priced at Rs 48,650 ex –showroom Delhi. This is Rs 1000 more than the Splendor+ and almost the same as the Splendor pro.
