How to Turn On or Off the DND Mode in Your iPhone with iOS 11

If you are an iPhone user with the iOS version 11, then you will be glad to know that now you can activate the DND (Do Not Disturb) mode for individual contacts. Often it so happens that you are irritated of certain number in your handset’s contact list or busy in some official or personal works and want not to get disturbed by any useless phone call or message. So the best way to stop such irrelevant phone calls and messages is by activating the DND. The DND mode is a crescent moon symbol marked to the left of your selected contact which once enabled stops all interrupting calls and messages to your device. Now let’s see how to On or Off the Do Not Disturb mode on your iPhone.

How to Turn On DND
  • To enable the DND mode on your iPhone, you at first need to go to the Message App and choose the conversation that you want to activate DND for.
  • Now you will find the “i” mark at the right hand upper corner of your handset. Tap on it.
  • Now toggle on Hide Alerts.
  • Then tap Done.

That’s all. Now the DND mode is activated for the selected contact and you will neither get a message nor call from this number until you have not turned off DND. This way can you can put as many numbers you want in the DND list. Post activation a crescent moon symbol will appear next to the DND activated contact.

How to Turn Off DND

Now suppose you are free from your chore and want to turn off DND for the numbers you had put in list. Then you need to follow the below steps.

  • Start with swiping the conversation left in Messages.
  • Next tap on Show Alerts.

That’s it. Now you will start receiving calls and messages from the numbers again.
