Jeep undoubtedly has strengthened its position in Indian market in the premium SUV segment. Now it has turned the dream car of many and the car had a hefty sale the previous year. But still its out of the reach of many car lovers who crave for this fantastic SUV, but just can’t put their hands on it due to cost factor. So we have a good news for these Jeep lovers. Now Jeep is all set to launch its cheapest model, most probably in October.
Before this Jeep India had launched the Jeep Compass Trailhawk which has an ex-showroom price tag of 26.80 lac in India. This SUV supports a BS-6 compliant 2.0 ltr turbocharge diesel engine which runs on a 9 speed automatic transmission. This model was exclusively for those people who were eagerly waiting for the diesel Automatic Compass.

Now the media conveys that Jeep is geared up to make this diesel Automatic Compass available for the common users, but at a considerably low price. In fact, the company is planning to provide the BS-6 2.0 liter diesel engine and 9 speed automatic gearbox in the standard compass and its mid variants.
The less price Diesel-Automatic Jeep Compass will compete to Mahindra XUV 500, Volkswagen Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson. With this the company targets the customers who are in quest of a lower range SUV. Of course the customers would not get lot many features in this SUV and instead of automatic, they would get a manual gear box. Besides, the diesel-automatic is assumed to be integrated only in the Compass front wheel drive variants.
