You will be happy to know that the Next Generation Volvo XC60 will replace the existing model which has been in the market since 2008 and is competing with the leading car models i.e. Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5, Jaguar F-Pace and BMW X3. And the new model of Volvo XC60 will see a major overhaul when being compared to the existing outgoing model. The new generation of Compact XUV will also support the flexible SPA architecture which was for the first time launched into the market with Volvo’s line-up.
If considered from design point of view, the upcoming SUV will resemble the XC90 a lot though the wheelbase will be shorter in comparison to the existing SUV. However, it’s expected that the forthcoming SUV will flaunt the new trademark chrome grille flanked by ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED headlights and vertical tail lights at the rear. The XC60’s cabin is presumed to have a similar resemblance to the Volvo XC90’s cabin and will pack a more boxy profile when compared to the existing model’s sweptback look. So what superb you get inside the cabin is leather upholstered five-seater seats, a fantastic infotainment system and an all around soft-touch fascination.
Now coming to the engine and power stats, the new XC60 will pack a number of turbocharged petrol and diesel engine options amongst which it will also have a Twin-Electric petrol-electric plug-in hybrid engine on the T8 Hybrid variant which is supposed to churn out 400bhp of power. This new upcoming SUV is supposed to get launched in the Indian market in the first part of 2018. Now it’s to be seen, how better the new car from the Swedish automaker is being accepted in India, though the previous editions have been widely accepted. Of course, Time will be the best judge. So let’s wait and watch
