Pre-Requisites
- One Xiaomi Mi3 Smartphone. Ensure that your device has been updated with the developer ROM.
- Original Data Cable
- One PC preloaded with Xiaomi Mi3 drivers. Else at first download and install the drivers on your PC from Xiaomi’s official website.
- Keep at least 60% to 70% battery back up in your Xiaomi Mi3 Smartphone to avoid accidental shut down during rooting.
Steps to Root Your Xiaomi Mi3
As told you before also first you have to update your Xiaomi Mi3 Smartphone with the developer ROM before starting the rooting process.
- To start the update process, first of all download the official developer ROM from Xiami’s official site. Post download rename the file to update.zip.
- Move the file to the SD card of your device in the next step and launch the option Update App in your Xiaomi Mi3 device. Now press the Menu button and choose Select installation file/Select Update package.
- From the displayed files now choose the update.zip file that you moved to your SD card in the before step.
- After you select the .zip file, press Update and wait for sometime still the installation finishes.
- Post installation, reboot your device.
