High Security Number Plates made Essential, Else No Registration Number

From August this year no new vehicle will be registered without high security number plate. The Ministry of Road Transport is updating its sftware meant for registration of vehicles. This software will get updated by the end of July and once the database is updated, it will be impossible to register the common number plate supported vehicles.

Why High Security Number Plate is essential

According to an officer of the Ministry, high security number is already issued for all vehicles from 1st April 2019 and all notifications related to this has been issued three months before. Inspite of this, many RTOs are registering with the normal number plate and that’s why the ministry has taken this step. The ministry has added that it’s essential for the dealers to link the high security number plate with the vehicle database post sale.

Specialities of the High Security Number Plate

The Ministry has made it obvious to issue high security number plates from April 1. The vehicle manufcaturer will be bound to send the high security number plate with the new vehicle. Similarly, the dealer will also be bound to deliver the vehicles with high security number plates.

How High Security Number Plate looks

On the middle left side of the Number plate, India will be written in blue.

The Number Plate is made up of aluminium and there will be a hologram on which the cycle with a cycle mark.

The number plate will have a seven digit ID Number.

The number plate will have round corners with numbers written on laser.

Once the number plate is fixed to the vehicle it can’t be opened.

The number plate will have your registration number which can’t be removed easily.
