How to send View Once image and video messages on Whatsapp?

Whatsapp adds an important feature to its messages platform. Video and fade-in and fade-out functions allow users to send images and videos as messages and disappear when viewed by the recipient. This is a new security feature that will appear in the future stable version of Whatsapp. Currently, only beta users of Android apps can experience this feature.Now let us learn to how to send View Once image and video messages on Whatsapp.

This is unlike from the disappearing messaging feature we already have on Whatsapp. The disappearing message function deletes all images, text, or videos in the conversation in the last 7 days. But these disappearing images and videos are one-off. When the recipient views the media content, it disappears from the chat window.

Many secure communication platforms (such as SnapChat) have functions such as deleting messages when the recipient sees them. Although Instagram has added a new vanish mode, the mode is also very good. However, Whatsapp now has this feature. It took a while for Whatsapp to add this privacy feature to its platform, but we are finally here. This is called as one-off functions i.e. view once.

How to send View Once image and video messages on Whatsapp?

  1. Open the Whatsapp chat application on your device.
  2. Tap the media picker icon (clip icon) to select the photo or video you want to send. This is the only sign that you send photos or videos on WhatsApp.
  3. Click the gallery icon to open your media library.
  4. After selecting the image or video you want to send, you will be taken to a page that allows you to write for it. Here, you will see a “view once” button next to the location icon in the lower right corner. Click on it to activate. It will turn green after activation.
  5. Then press the send button and the personalized image or video will be send. You will not see this image or video in the regular message window. Instead, you will see an “image” of an picture and a “video” of a video written for it.
  6. If you receive this image or video when you open it, the image will be “opened”. This can also happen when account reading is turned off. If the person who opened it opens and sees it once, it will also disappear from the recipient too.

Although this feature looks good now, but it is not yet perfect. All photos and videos on the recipient’s page disappear immediately after seeing them, but the recipient can still take screenshots of them. Other private messaging programs will send a message stating that a screenshot has been taken. But Whatsapp does not do so. They do not automatically detect when a user takes a screenshot of a conversation, which means that there is no mechanism for detecting screenshots in this feature.

Whatsapp also acknowledge this common shortcoming and stated that this feature may not be detect in the future. With this in mind, most people will use Snapchat or any other social networking application to post missing photos or photos because it will notify the sender when a screenshot is taken.

Well, there is one more thing to know. Initially, the sender cannot see the pictures or videos posted on the chat page. However, if something goes wrong, the sender can delete everyone’s permanent photos. Only then can the recipient see that the package which is aloof.

Therefore, you can send all the lost videos and pictures on WhatsApp in this way.
