Indian feature phone maker Jivi on Thursday launched its first smartphone. The smartphone is priced at a very affordable price i.e Rs. 1,999. This phone is for those who are looking for a cheap phone they can afford and also get all the latest features.
Jivi JSP 20 is a Dual Sim phone and it sports a 3.5-inch (320×480 pixel) display. You can buy this phone exclusively through e-commerce firm Amazon,The Phone runs the old Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS.The smartphone is powered by a 1GHz processor and it has got 128 MB of RAM ,256MB inbuilt storage which can be expandable upto 32 Gb via microSD card .
The Jivi JSP 20 also offers a 2-megapixel rear camera with flash. The smartphone packs a 1350mAh battery.The connectivity features of this affordable phone include Wifi, Bluetooth, GPRS and FM radio. The phone also features a flashlight. The device has Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu languages built in, so can text inin multiple Indian languages. 1 year manufacturer warranty for device and 6 months manufacturer warranty for in-box accessories including batteries from the date of purchase
Jivi Mobiles CEO Pankaj Anand ” said The intent was clear. We want to make available a good quality smartphone at an extremely affordable price, we are doing this on very thin margins,”. He further added” This is an entry-level device for those looking to upgrade. This is in sync with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative,” .He also said that that the firm will bring newer devices in the coming weeks powered by the latest Android KitKat operating system.
Jivi aims to sell about 200,000 units of the device. This is now the the cheapest smartphone which is powered by Android OS available in the country. Intex has rolled out the Aqua T2 which is termed as India’s ‘cheapest’ Android 4.4 KitKat smartphone. The Intex Aqua T2 has been, priced at Rs. 2,699. The Intex Aqua T2 will be available in Grey and Black colours. The Intex Aqua T2 has a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) support and has got FM. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core MediaTek (MT6571) processor coupled with 256MB of RAM. It comes with 512MB of inbuilt storage storage which can be expandable upto 32 GB via microSD card .The smartphone features a 3.5-inch HVGA (320×480 pixels) IPS display. Last month, Intex has launched its first Firefox OS smartphone Cloud FX in India which is priced at Rs. 1,999.
