Lenovo S60 launched in India at Rs 12,999

Lenovo India has launched a new S-series smartphone, the S60. It is priced at Rs. 12,999.The Lenovo S60 smartphone will be available via the company’s brand store, thedostore.com, Flipkart and Amazon.

The Lenovo S60 sports a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display.  It is 7.7mm thin and weighs 128 grams. The handset will be offered in Graphite Grey colour.The smartphone is powered by a 64-bit 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 processor. It features 2GB of RAM and Mali 450 MP GPU for fst and un interrupted performance. It offers 8GB of internal storage, which is further expandabl up to 32 GB  via microSD card.The Lenovo S60 is a Dual Sim supporting device. The smartphone runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Vibe 2.0 UI on top. The smartphone can be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The Lenovo S60 also comes pre-loaded  DOit apps, such as SECUREit, SHAREit and SYNCit. The SSECUREit app enables users to track, analyse and optimise their data usage, the SHAREit app can be in use for fast phone-to-phone data transfer capability in the absence of Wi-Fi or mobile network and SYNCit app give users a permanent backup of all their data and also makes it accessible on any other device.

Coming to the camera front, the S60 sports a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with LED flash. The rear camera features scene detection, face recognition, low light enhancement, Panorama, geo-tagging, burst shot, smile shot, and HDR options. Going with the current trend, there is a secondary 5-megapixel fixed-focus front camera for this selfie obsessed.

The smartphone comes with pretty good connectivity features like  GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n,3G, Micro-USB and Bluetooth. With such a high price tag, Lenevo disappoints us with the absence of 4G support. The smartphone is backed by  a 2150mAh battery, which is claimed  to deliver up to 17 hours of talk time and up to 240 hours of standby time on 3G networks. It packs sensors such as accelerometer, ambient light sensor, magnetometer, and proximity sensor.

Earlier this month, the Lenovo A3900 handset was launched. It features a 5-inch FWVGA (480×854 pixels) display. The Lenovo A3900 is powered by an 1.2 Ghz  octa-core processor along with 512MB of RAM. The  handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat OS. The connectivity features of the smartphone includes  3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, OTG, and Micro-USB.

 It offers 4GB built-in storage which can be  expandable. The smartphone sports 5-megapixel rear camera with flash, there is a 2-megapixel front camera. It is backed by a a 2300mAh battery.
