With the growing demand for cars in the Indian market, different manufacturers have started adding innovation and quality to their cars and one such instance has recently been seen with Mahindra, the India based automaker that has recently launched a new electronics car named e2oPlus in four variants i.e. P2 (commercial), P4, P6 and P8 in the Indian market. The car ranges Rs 5.46-8.46 lakh ( ex-showroom in New Delhi) including all charges i.e. subsidy of the state and FAME incentives.
It’s obvious that the car has no direct competitors, but the price segment it falls in makes it counted as one of the premium class vehicles in the country. To make you more clear on the exact price segment of different models of the car, the e2oPlus P4 costs Rs 5.46 lakh, the P6 costs Rs 5.95 lakh and the P8 costs Rs 8.46 lakh. This is the first Electric Vehicle from Mahindra and will be marked under the new ‘Mahindra Electric’ moniker.

Now moving to the different features & specifications of the e2oPlus Car variants, the top-end variant P8 is powered by a 41PS electric motor whilst the other variants carry 25PS electric motor. I must tell you that the 41PS electric motor is capable of producing 91Nm of torque whilst the later will churn out 70Nm of torque. This time but you get a better car as the e2oPlus P8 packs a 210Ah lithium-ion battery and supports a two-speed direct drive transmission.
Battery of the e2oPlus P8 is capable to provide you a drive of 140km on one time recharge. The company provides the users with a 3kW 16-amp charger which will take around 15 hours to fully recharge your car. Also Mahindra, the manufacturer brings you an alternative for fast charging which will juice up your car up to 95 percent in just 75 minutes. And if compared with the other two variants of the car, the P8 is capable enough to provide the users superior performance. In terms of performance, the e2oPlus P8 is claimed to pick 0-60kmph in just 9.5 seconds and maximum speed of the car is 85kmph.
The e2oPlus is also quite better in look and style in comparison to the two-door e20 which boasts the length of more 310mm, 61mm width and is 25mm height. Also there is a 300mm growth in its wheelbase in comparison to the predecessor and it offers the bootspace of 135-litres.

Introducing the new e2oPlus car, CEo of Mahindra Electric Mahesh Babu said, “Our consumer is an urban city dweller who commutes daily. He wants a comfortable drive and not hassled by regular gear shifting and low maintenance costs. The cities have become congested and driving speeds have reduced a lot. Parking spaces have reduced too. We are working on building smart cities in collaboration with govt. Hence, we thought of a car which is city smart, reduces driving hassles, is affordable for longer commutes and solves other daily transportation problems. Hence, the e2oPlus was born.”
However, the overall design is very equal to that of the e20, though minor changes can be easily marked in the car. The front grille of the car now features ‘whiskers’ like all other SUVs of Mahindra. On the Sides of the e2oPlus, two more gates are added and rear door handles of the car is given an exact design like that of the Mahindra KUV100. Other catcy outer designs of the car include slightly tweaked projector headlamp, rear spoiler & redesigned vertically placed LED tail lamps. Also some equivalent features like the digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment system and Navigation will make your car usage more civilized.
