Mercedes is all set to launch Mercedes Benz ML 63 AMG on May 15th this year. This is a medium sized sports utility vehicle (SUV). AMG stands for Aufrecht Melcher Grobaspach, which is a part of Mercedes Benz. This group specializes in making each model of the Mercedes line-up to look more aggressive, improvises handling and these are generally priced much higher than their base models. It is equipped with a high power 5.5 litre bi-turbo engine but is lighter in weight than the GL model with the same engine which was launched last month. It achieves an acceleration of 100kmph in just 4.7 seconds.
The engine is a V8 Bi-Turbo engine with a whooping power of 557bhp and maximum torque of 760 N-m which makes this an authentic power packed SUV attaining top speed of around 250kmph.The bi-Turbo engine has two turbochargers for enhanced performance at different speeds. The engine has a spray guided injection system with piezo injectors and ECO start/stop system. It has a full aluminium crankcase. The 8 inclined cylinders have 4 valve each. The 4 valves help in proper intake and exhaust giving high performance. It has a 7 speed AMG shiftspeed plus 7G –tronic system. It incorporates a 4 –matic all wheel drive which distributes power in the ratio 40: 60 to front and rear axle respectively. Giving safety more priority it has 9 activated on demand airbags. The Car not only has features to save passengers but also incorporates technology to keep pedestrians safe.
It is equipped with roll stabilization, Adaptive Damping System (ADS) and suspension system. It has Electronic stability system (ESP), Antilock braking System (ABS) and Brake assist( BAS). Brake Assist senses emergency braking detecting the speed at which the driver presses the brake pedal. Brake Assist can shorten the overall stopping distance. This system can pump the brakes upto 30 times per second, prevents lockup of wheels and the handling remains unaffected. The collision prevention assist is a radar based technology that warns you about any vehicle or obstacle if there is any probability of collision while driving at speeds higher than 20 mph. These offer a safe, stable and comfortable ride. It has 3 buttons Comfort, Manual and Sport mode to choose as per your convenience. The steering wheel has speed sensors which use electromechanical technology easing every turn you make.
This AMG has luxurious designer leather seats. It sports a 5 spoke titanium grey painted alloy wheels. It also comes with AMG door sills in stainless steel AMG sports pedals in stainless steel with rubber studs, tyre monitoring system, electronic sliding glass roof and heated seats for driver and front passenger, Bi-Xenon headlamps, LED daytime running lamps and Rain sensing wipers, anti –theft alarms, surround view system.
