New TVS Scooty Zest 110 Launched in India Market

The TVS Scooty series, which is a popular buy among women riders in India, now gets another variant added to the line-up, the new TVS Scooty Zest 110. The scooter was unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year and attracted enough attention from attendees. This makes it the third scooter under the Scooty brand after the Scooty Pep Plus and the Scooty Streak. Unlike the other scooty variant like the Scooty Streak and the Scooty Pep+, the Zest is a lot bolder, stylish and powerful. The new age design and the features will cater the young generation segment specifically defined by TVS as females falling in the age-group of 18 to 24 years. TVS has tried to highlight it from the other scooters with vibrant graphics, bold body work and first-class features.

In terms of looks and design, the new Scooty Zest does get some style and design upgrades with a revised front and rear end. The front fascia has the same familiar Scooty look like the first TVS  Scooty which was launched in the 1990s, but with a snazzier bigger headlamp, new indicators and the TVS logo boldly sitting on the two-tone front apron is eye catchy. The Scooty Zest 110 features tubeless tyres, a back-lit speedometer and a broader dual-textured seat to give good riding comfort. The scooter also gets 19-litres of under-seat storage, which is best in its class. It offers more storage space in the form of an open glove box, retractable bag hooks and under-seat hooks.

The Zest gets side body panels with revised accents, along with a fancy rear end with a new LED tail-light and indicator setup that blends very well with the scooter’s aesthetics. A stylish and handy alloy grab rail helps the rider feel safer. The front flat board is broader than earlier for easier riding. The Suspension is handled by telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The low weight of around 97 Kg, low seat height of 760-mm and a tighter turning radius helps to ride the scooter easily. Drum brakes are featured at the front and rear, a 110-mm one at the front and a 130-mm one at the rear. Some other features have also been included like a parking brake, easy centre stand, auto choke and easy kick start. The Scooty Zest 110 is available in 5 metallic colours: Dynamic White, Terrific Turquoise, Powerful Pink, Daring Black and Fiery Red.

The Scooty Zest now gets a four-stroke 109.7 cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled and carburetted engine which churns out peak power of 8PS@7500rpm and maximum torque of 8.7Nm@5500rpm. It’s the same engine as the Wego and Jupiter’s but has been mildly tweaked for the Scooty Zest. TVS Motor Company claims that the fuel consumption will figures at 62kmp.

TVS Scooty Zest will compete against Yamaha Ray and Activa-I, which have already established them in the market. The stylish scooter carries a sticker price of Rs. 42,300 ex-showroom Delhi and is placed below the TVS flagship scooter, the Jupiter.
