There is positive news for all you OnePlus fans out there, the Company has refuted the claims that it will withdraw from Indian markets. The CEO OnePlus India Robin Liu, has clearly stated on his official X handle that the claims of OnePlus closing down in India is completely baseless. He has refuted this news and has urged people to believe in official communications rather than mere rumors.
In the X Post Liu has said, “I wanted to address some misinformation that has been circulating about OnePlus India and its operations. We’re operating as usual and will continue to do so. Never Settle.”
He shared the said information along with an official notice that read, “Recent unverified reports claiming OnePlus is shutting down are false. OnePlus India’s business operations continue as normal. We urge all stakeholders to verify information from official sources before sharing unsubstantiated claims.”
The rumor reportedly started from a tech website called ‘Android Headline’. The tech site claimed that ‘OnePlus is being gradually dismantled.’ However another site that is Android Central contradicted the news and said that ‘the company may be narrowing down and streamlining operations.’ This spread like wildfire and became so viral that the OnePlus had to clarify and issue an official statement.
Many experts claimed that the step was being taken by Oppo because of the plummeting sales of OnePlus in the Indian markets. While other say that the brand is finding it tough to compete with other brands like Samsung and Google.
On the product front, OnePlus recently launched the powerful OnePlus Turbo 6 will be launched soon. The OnePlus Turbo 6 is confirmed to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset.
