Renault Duster Successor to appear in India in Second Half This Year

The word Duster itself is sufficient to create an imagination in our mind of the largest selling SUV in the Indian market in the previous year. While the amazing SUV from Renault has still kept its place intact among the top-selling cars of the country, it’s following segment i.e. the restructured Duster Facelift with Renault badge is supposed to hit the Indian market in the second half of 2014. The same car was also showcased in the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show with the brand name Dacia Duster.

Whatever, but it’s the truth that the car is gona reach our shores this year and it’s useless to say that it looks quite refreshed restructured with Renault’s D-Cross concept and the extra features make it more submissive. But for the most part it remains same to the existing model. The existing Renault Duster which sale was declined post launch of the Ford EcoSport in the country really needed one of its successors to confront the steep competition that it’s supposed to face during this year. Since most of Duster’s rivals are busy preparing blueprints to launch their sub-compact SUV’s, Duster Facelift’s entry in the market will be definitely welcoming.

Taking a brief look on the varied features of the Duster facelift ensures that the car is certainly luxurious as it features large air-dams, a dual-tone chrome grille, under body cladding, revised headlamps with double-optic units & day time running LEDs, new tail lamps & chromed exhaust pipe in rear diffuser. Besides, roof of the car rails with Duster logo & robust 16-inches alloys in dark metal shade which adds more flavor to the beauty of the car.

And lookwise the car looks quite alike from inside too. Conversely, the upcoming Duster is equipped with steering mounted controls, which in the existing model are behind the wheels. Among other changes, the car includes a new centre console with an updated infotainment system, cruise control & speed limiter, rear park assist, electronic stability control and standard dual front airbags. But it has not been clarified now, if the Indian version of the car will accompany all these features.

But from mechanical point of view, you will hardly find any modification in the car as the updated Duster carries the same 1.6-litre petrol, 1.5-litre K9K 85PS diesel & 1.5-litre 110PS diesel engines.
