  1. Nokia X, X+ or XL Mobile
  2. A Windows PC
  3. Original USB cable
  4. Charge the battery if power is less than 60% to avoid unexpected device shut down.
  5. Backup of personal data such as SMS, Contacts, videos, call logs and other files are necessary because in rooting procedure the data are wiped out.

Steps to root Nokia X, X+ & XL Android Phone

  1. First of all download the rooting package i.e. framaroot.apk, file for your phone here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2566341&d=1391850491) and save the files to desktop.
  2. Now connect your Mobile phone to your PC via USB cable. (USB drives must have been installed in your PC before).
  3. Move the rooting package to your device.
  4. You can disconnect your device from your PC now.
  5. Now go to the File Manager section in your phone and search for the framaroot.apk, there.
  6. After locating, click the framaroot.apk, file. You will be prompted with two root exploits i.e. “Aragorn” and “Gandalf”.
  7. Click on “Gandalf” and the exploit will be installed on your device. Wait still the installation completes.
  8. Now reboot your Nokia X+ phone to get your device rooted.
