Royal Enfield 650 Twins launched in India : Alloy Wheels & More

Royal Enfield, has launched alloy wheels for its popular 650 twins, the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, in India. The move came in response to market feedback, and the alloy wheels come with several benefits such as tubeless tires that make puncture fixes and tire changes more convenient. Additionally, alloy wheels require less maintenance and have a higher resistance to corrosion.

Features of the 650 twins

The updated 650 twins come with other new features such as a new LED headlight, new colors, and USB chargers. The levers and switchgear have also been updated, borrowing from new-age Royal Enfield bikes. The Interceptor 650 gets Black Ray and Barcelona Blue, while the Continental GT has Slipstream Blue and Apex Grey. A unique aspect of these new colors is their blacked-out theme, with many surfaces across the engine, alloy wheels, exhaust, and side panels having been blacked out. The new colors expand options available to buyers, and the alloy wheels are currently available only with the blacked-out variants.

Govindarajan, expressed confidence in the updated 650 twins, saying, “The Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 have received immense love from riding enthusiasts across the world. We are confident that the new colours, particularly the all-black models with alloy wheels, will give buyers greater motivation to ride these motorcycles, and the new technological advancements will make riding them more enjoyable.
Royal Enfield has updated the 650 twins in India to meet BS6 Phase 2 compliance norms. The 648cc parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine powers the Interceptor and Continental GT. It delivers a maximum power of 47 hp and peak torque of 52 Nm, coupled with a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox. The company has designed the engine to provide a smooth throttle response across the rev range. This 650 twins is ideal for both city streets and effortless cruising on wide-open roads.
