With the growing rivalry between the Smartphone and mobile manufacturing companies, almost all are trying to touch each and every market segment and the Korean Smartphone manufacturer Samsung is a step ahead in the process. Lately, the manufacturer touched a very different niche of the market after introducing a new tablet for the children, exclusively made for education. The tablet named as Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is aimed to be deployed for K-12 schools for the 2014-2015 academic year.
However, the tablet resembles a lot to the standard Tab 3 10.1 model in features and specifications. But the only difference is the software that is specifically developed for the educational backdrop. Apart, the Google’s Play for Education that the tablet features will assist the teachers in educational vehement and the in-built NFC Chip will make the task further easier. The tablet will also come preloaded with the most recent Android 4.4. KitKat OS which will make its maxim more pertinent.
To take a look on the hardware specifications of the education model Tab 3 10.1 ensures that the device features a 10.1 inch TFT display with 1280×800 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor. It runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system and supports 1 GB of RAM with 16/32 GB of in-built storage space. It too supports a microSD card (memory unspecified) and its connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n support, NFC, and microUSB 2.0. The camera parts include a 3.15 rear and a 1.3 front camera respectively.
While the device is supposed to made available in April, it’s expected that the standard version of Tab 3 10.1 will receive the Android 4.4 OS update within the same tenure. The most interesting fact is that, unlike other tablets this device will not hit the market; rather those will be sent directly to schools co-related with Samsung. Other schools also can place their order for the device, but the tablet will be sent in bulk and its price will depend upon the number of units ordered by purchasers.
