Maruti Suzuki had showcased its upcoming car Jimny at Auto Expo 2020. After this the Indian market is waiting for its launch. According to reports, the biggest car manufacturer in the country Maruti might launch its 5 door Car Jimny in India the following year. It’s assumed that Maruti might launch this off-roading SUV in the Indian market at a beginning price of Rs. 10 lakh. If rumours are to be believed, it will be sold through Maruti’s premium dealership “Nexa Outlets”.
Another new report from sources convey that Maruti is planning to manufacturing its upcoming SUV Jimny in India. At first the company will import its 3-door Jimny parts from Japan and will assemble it at its Gurugram plant. After by 2022-23, Maruti will be completely manufacturing its 3 door and 5 door supported Jimny in India. That means, its all parts will be manufactured in India and it will be assembled at the Manesar plant.
Reportedly, the 5 door Jimny will only be manufactured in India. 1 lakh units of the SUV will be manufactured in India and will be exported to other countries. Every year Maruti is manufacturing 50-55 thousand units of its 3-door Jimny and export these to other countries from Japan.
Jimny: Possible Specifications
According to reports, the Jimny might run on a 1.5 litre petrol engine which can churn out 102 PS Power and 130 NM turk. It will pack a 5-speed manual gearbox with 4-speed automatic transmission. All variants of Jimny will support 4 wheel drive.
The Maruti Jimny 5 door model will directly compete with Mahidra Thar and Force Gurkha cars in the Indian market.
