Yamaha has launched the new YZF-R25 in the Indonesian market. The bike will race on the roads by this July. The bike has adapted a few designs from the superbikes Yamaha R1 and R6. The bike is priced at 53 million Indonesian Rupiah. It will be offered in three colours- Black Predator, Diablo Red and Racing Blue. The bike is expected to compete against bikes like KTM RC 390 and Kawasaki Ninja 300. Yamaha says that you can ride this bike on a daily basis on the roads.
The bike has stylish looks with reverse slant twin headlights and a pilot light in between them. It has rear LED lamps, shift indicator for high performance of the bike and also has a central air Duct. The bike has been developed around a tubular diamond steel frame, has front suspension with large 41mm inner tubes and rear monocross suspension for centralizing the mass. The bike has a mid ship end can and a fuel capacity of 14.3 litres. It has disc brakes on the front wheel and also on rear one.
The bike weighs 166kg. The bike has got a double cylinder four stroke 250cc engine. The engine is cooled by a liquid medium. The engine delivers a maximum power of 36PS at 12000rpm and 22.6Nm at 10000 rpm . The engine is mated to a 6 speed gearbox. The engine has a compression ratio of 11.6:1. The engine incorporates Die casting Aluminium Silicon cylinders which give high heat dissipation and weighs less. The bike has got a power to weight ratio of 216Ps per tonne and ground clearance of 160mm.
The Yamaha R25 is expected to come to India soon, but there is no concrete news about it. Yamaha is doing good business with Yamaha R15, Yamaha Fazer and Yamaha FZ which come in the 150cc category.
