The statement reads, “It has come to the notice of Reserve Bank of India that certain elements are fraudulently using the name/ logo of Reserve Bank of India, and seeking charges/ commission/ tax from public, in transactions related to buying and selling of old banknotes and coins through various online/ offline platforms.”
With this statement RBI has also made it clear that it has nothing to do with such kind of transactions and RBI has not authorised any firm, institution or person to collect commission or charges on its behalf.
So in simple words to say you have to make such transactions at your own risk.
