Apple, the biggest Smartphone brand across the globe is probably planning to start manufacturing iPhones in India. Though nothing has yet been confirmed by the company, but sources claim it true. Even Apple has started discussing with the Indian Govt. on some major points before setting up its iPhone manufacturing unit in the country.
This decision has been taken by Apple to lessen the price of the most shouted after Smartphones in India and to bag some major market share. For the time other Smartphone companies, even newbies are dominating the market due to their low budget Smartphones with better hardware and software alternatives that iPhones Provide.
So these are the base causes why Apple Inc has decided to start manufacturing the iPhone unit directly form India so that it could be made available to users at affordable prices. Rather in China, the other biggest market in the Globe, the selling of iPhones also decreasing gradually. So Apple might have thought to make India a major hub of iPhone users as people in India just love the brand.
So one Industry sources revealed on Friday that in the coming months Apple will start assembling its low-cost iPhone SE models at an South Indian technology Hub in Bengaluru (in contract). But other sources said to Reuters earlier this month, Apple’s Taiwanese manufacturing partner Wistron Corp is specially building a manufacturing unit for iPhones in Bengaluru.

While Apple the previous year had shipped around 2.5 million phones to India, the market research Counterpoint confirms that three quarter of the number of Smartphones made locally were sold in India during the year. This is what makes a big difference and only because of price prospects. Conversely, the fourth quarter markets estimations confirm that though Apple stood in the 10th rank India during this period, but it led the premium segment by 62 percent. So this lead perhaps Apple plans to implement in all other Smartphone segments.
