WhatsApp Business has partnered with metro rail operators in several cities in India to launch a chatbot. It has partnered with metro rail operators in B, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune to introduce a new WhatsApp chatbot service for commuters.
This chatbot will likely allow commuters to receive real-time updates on train schedules, delays, and other important information. They will also be able to book, purchase, cancel, or top-up their transit tickets. The chatbot will be available in the local language or English in each city. Users can activate it by sending a message to a designated number on WhatsApp.
The partnership between WhatsApp and the metro rail operators could potentially make commuting more efficient. By using the chatbot, commuters can quickly and easily access the information they need to plan their journeys and avoid delays.
Ravi Garg, Business Managing Director, WhatsApp India, said “India’s digital transformation is now making public transport safer, smarter, and more convenient. We are proud that India’s world-class metro services in multiple cities are now integrated to WhatsApp to offer commuters convenience at their fingertips. We would be happy to support other cities, and help digitize train transits on WhatsApp to add value to the lives of daily commuters across the country”.
How to book your e-ticket
Currently available in the four cities mentioned above, users can chat with the bot in either the local language or English. They can do it by sending a message saying ‘Hi’ to ‘https://wa.me/+918105556677’ to activate it. The chatbot will provide users with a URL for booking e-tickets. This collaboration between WhatsApp and the metro rail operators will enhance commuting convenience. It will also increase efficiency for people in these cities.
