For the purpose DMRC has invited a tender recently and has mentioned March 28 as the last date for the tender. The application is supposed to be cost-free for the users as it’s expected to work offline. Latest amenities that the App will make available includes info about the nearest railway station, timing of the previous and next train at different stations, fare between stations, route info with the metro app and parking place inside a station periphery.
Besides, the Application will assist the travellers to detect landmarks and tourist spots near metros, get info about feeder services along with helpline numbers. Its in-built GPS system will enable the users to find out their existing location on the metro route map after zooming in or zooming out the same on their Smartphones.
The application will also include particulars of feeder buses and obtainable at different stations and DTC buses available on the metro roots for easy transportation. The metro museums also come in the category of the app which will make the commuters aware of the details of Metro museum including the route to the museum, holidays, timing, souveiner and their price with contact details of the officials.
The application furthermore will add details of the official helpline numbers of DMRC for help, complaint, suggestion and security helpline numbers for contact in case of any urgency. The special How-to configuration of the app will assist the users to come out of delusions created during its use.
It can answer to their queries regarding the use of smartcards, items not allowed to carry in the metro train and other issues relating to the same. While the application is developed for the first time ever by Delhi metro, it’s suspected that it will be the numero uno Metro station among all with this developed app.
