Don’t Delay on Purchase, 30 Percent Hike on Television Cost by October

Smart TV this date is an important gadget in Every household. Benefit of the Smart TV is that you can run Internet on it and watch all those programs on TV which are not available on DTH. And if you reside in India, then you must know that every festive season there is heavy sale of the TV like gadgets in the country, specially in Diwali and Dussera. This year also many of you people must have planned to bring home Smart TVs. But we have a bad news for you.

If you are planning to bring home a smart TV, then don’t delay because the Market experts opine that by October this year, there might be a hike of 30 percent in the television cost. So if you have any such plan, then now is the the best time for bringing home a TV.

Reason behind rise in TV prices is difficulties in import of television panels due to COVID. Because most of the TV panels are being imported from China, the India Government has banned import of LCD TV and Color TV import. So there is a reduction in the number of panels in India, but undoubtedly demand for the same will grow this festive season.

According to Avneet Marwa, CEO of Super Plastronics that manufacturers television with the license of Thomson and Kodak, TV prices might hike up to 35 per cent in the festive season. Similarly Arjun Bajaj, director of Videotex, a Shinko TV maker says that TV prices could increase by 20–30 per cent in the next few days, as Indian TV dealers are not getting imported television. Besides, there is also a tax of 20 per cent on imported TVs.
