Honda launches WR-V in India at Rs. 7.75 lakh

Honda, the ultimate car manufacturer practically holds a good chunk of market share in India. The Indian Car market is filled with both luxurious and base model Honda cars and every now and then the company is busy launching new cars into the market. One such brand new luxurious Donor car, the much hyped debutant sub-4m crossover, the WRV at a price tag of Rs. 7.75 lakh.

The new segment WR-V from Honda is being launched in two variants i.e. the base model ‘S’ and the top-ranging ‘VX’. The car will be made available in both petrol and diesel variants. As per reports, the Honda WRV S (Petrol) model will cost Rs. 7.75 lakhs whereas the Honda WRV VX (Petrol) cost Rs 8.99 lakh. Conversely, the Honda WRV S (Diesel) will be priced at Rs 8.79 Lakh whilst the Honda WRV VX (Diesel) will cost Rs 9.99 Lakh. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom in Delhi.

Now moving to the specs, the Honda WR-V is power packed by 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol (five-speed manual) and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel (six-speed manual) engines. The standard model of WR-V also packs dual airbags at front and by default packs ABS and EBD as standard features. If compared to the Honda ‘Jazz,’ the new WRV will lack a bit in matters of fuel efficiency. It’s so because petrol version of the Honda WRV returns 17.5kmpl while the diesel version returns 25.5kmpl.This milage however is around 2 kilometre less than the Honda Jazz in both the petrol and diesel variants.

In terms of features, the Honda WR-V borrows more features from the facelifted Honda City than the Honda Jazz. The features include one-touch open and close sunroof, 7.0-inch infotainment system, passive keyless entry and many more. However, you will not get the magic seats of Honda Jazz in the new model Honda car. Most interestingly, the Honda WRV will offer three years of unlimited kilometres warranty by default and it can further be extended for additional two years (unlimited warranty).

The Honda WR-V will compete with the heavyweights in market such as Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport.
