How to Update Samsung Galaxy A8 SM-A810F to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS

The Samsung Galaxy A8 Smartphone with Model Number SM-A810F is now receiving the official Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS in a number of countries that include Turkey, Morocco (MWD), Saudi Arabia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Iraq, Tunisia, Libya, and Turkey. The firmware is being rolled Over The Air in three Firmware names i.e. A810FXXU1APJ1, A810FXXU1API7 and A810FXXU1APL1.

So if you are a user of the Samsung Galaxy A8 Smartphone and live in any of the above said regions, then guys, this firmware is specially for you. To flash this firmware on your handset you have to get the latest Marshmallow build on your device and trust me, it might hit your handset at any point of time. So keep checking the firmware update section of your device to flash the new OS on your handset.

But if you have not received the firmware on your Smartphone still now, then you needn’t worry as it might hit your handset at any point of time. To manually check the firmware availability on your handset, you should keep checking the Notification panel of your Samsung Galaxy A8 following the steps Settings>About Device?Firmware Update. But if you want to flash the firmware right away with the OTA build, then the below mentioned manual update procedure is specially for you.

But before starting the Manual Update procedure, you need to fill certain requirements that include a complete back up of your Samsung Galaxy A8, since the update might erase all data from your device. How to Update Samsung Galaxy A8 to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

  1. First make sure that the Samsung Galaxy A8 is not rooted. If it’s rooted then you may or may not get the exact result. It’s totally unexpected.
  2. Then download the Marshmallow Firmware for your Smartphone and after download Odin. Do not rename it.
  3. After extract both the downloaded files on your PC and place them on the desktop of your PC to find it easily while updating.
  4.  Switch off the Samsung Galaxy A8 and press the VOL DOWN KEY+OK BUTTON+POWER BUTTON to land your Smartphone into download mode. When a warning message appears, press the VOL UP KEY to move to the next step.
  5. Now double click on Odin to launch it and then with the help of USB, connect the Samsung Galaxy A8 to your PC. Soon as the ID:COM box in Odin turns yellow indicating that the device is connected. If this doesn’t happen then know you have not enabled the USB Debugging option. Do so by going to Settings>Applications> Development>USB debugging and KIES.
  6. After select “PDA” and choose the .tar file that was downloaded & extracted by you in the beginning. Go ahead and click on the Start button.
  7. The update procedure will start now and will take few minutes. The Smartphone will be switched off and will reboot automatically. Then unplug the cable and go easy with the official updated process.
